  • Performed technical, clinical, and market analysis of next-generation gene-based microbial diagnostics technology for a major research organization.
  • Performed a market, clinical and technical assessment of a next generation medical imaging technology for the State of Ohio.
  • Performed comprehensive (economic development, technical feasibility and manufacturing scalability) assessments for the State of Ohio’s Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing Extension Partnership investment programs for three years.
  • Completed industry analysis for Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) for a Water Technology Industry Report that assessed the challenges and opportunities for growth of the water technology industry in the state.  This included electronic and direct surveys of water industry stakeholders and a detailed market analysis using an IMPLAN data base and custom I/O Model.

  • Completed market analysis for an international chemical supply company introducing a novel, bio-based, sustainable water treatment chemical to the North American market for use with reverse osmosis membrane plants.
  • Served as evaluators for Ohio’s Third Frontier TVSF program (Technology Validation and Start-Up Fund) from 2020 – present.   Made investment recommendations on over 180 proposals considering team, market, proposed offering, IP and program plan.

Technology Commercialization and Business Development

  • State of Ohio TVSF progam evaluator (see immediately above).
  • Assisted a renewable materials company in determining the optimum business models for several markets.
  • Identified high quality investment and product development opportunities for products based on soybeans.  This included developing portfolio and project level investment screening tools and engaging prospective partners.
  •  Engaged by the Ohio Soybean Council to accelerate the product development, scale-up and commercialization of bisphenol A (BPA) free reactive oligomer technology for beer , beverage and food metal container coatings
  • Conducted a systematic market and technical analysis to identify high value specialty chemicals applications and markets for novel bio based molecules.
  • Triaged, summarized and marketed the high potential developments from an NSF funded nano medicine research center at a major university.
  • Providing consulting services to Ohio Biobased Innovation Center in Columbus, OH to grow their presence outside of Midwest.
  • Currently serving as senior technical and business advisors to several companies in biobased nutraceuticals and polymers.
  •  Formulated and implemented program management approaches for the State of Ohio’s AMP program.
  • Co-presenter with Ohio Soybean Council and Battelle at the International COSI Coating Conference, Norrdwijk, Holland, June 27-30, 2017.  Highlighted  novel, biobased thermoset coatings derived from soybeans.
  • Provided product development leadership and hands-on expertise for a biofilled polymer company.
  • Joined the Advisory Board of Godavari Knowledge Society, Hyderabad, India to grow the bioeconomy in India.
  • Co-inventor on US 9,458,407 issued in October, 2016.  “Algal Based Biolubricants”

Environmental Engineering

  •  Completed water audits of three microbreweries to benchmark their water use efficiency and identified practical options to reduce water and sewer charges including in-house wastewater side streaming and on-site wastewater treatment.
